I noticed that I have 2 little spots on my screen that are dark. Seems like there is dust between the LCD layer and the back light. The spots are along the left edge and the top of the screen. It's not dead pixels/subpixels, as you can see from the attached pic.

I removed the bezel to have a look at how the LCD's edges are. It's plastic and metal shells, that latch on to each other + tape at some spots. Not exactly something that looks easy to take apart without risking damage. I blasted the edges of the LCD with compressed air to try and dislodge them, but it didn't help.

I have no clue how those got there, I use my laptop indoors all the time, at home and work :(

Any ideas what I can do about them?

BTW I have the 1440x900 samsung screen with LED back lighting.

i had the same issue on my t500, it was a bit higher on my screen and really annoying, after a few days in my backpack it disappeared, now there is one on the start bar and isnt as annoying. did you try GENTLY tapping the screen to see if it moves?

Ya I tapped the screen, rubbed it too :p ... but that didn't help. Maybe they will just move of the visible area as my T400 bounces along in my bag ... I hope.

I have my start menu on the left edge, so the one along that edge isn't too annoying, but the one on the top is noticeable.

Not only do Lenovo's displays suck when it comes to color accuracy and viewing angles, now there is this crap. I've had other laptops used for 5 years without having such crap happen.

Edit: I just ran a screen test, full white ... I actually have 4 spots

you could call Lenovo service. I have changed a screen when a piece of large dusts went into the laptop, and they changed the LCD without too much fuss. While, my friend had a similar problem, but he was refused the service initially, only when i called in the second time and explained the problem to the phone support, did they agree that it was covered under warranty.

So you may have to call in a couple of times, if the first time didn't work.
