I used to open up my desktop every month and blow it out to keep dust from accumulating inside. Does a computer like the T61 take in dust as much as a desktop? Is there a good way to keep the insides nice and clean to maximize the life of the laptop? Thanks.

Just put the pipe of a hoover onto the vent and then turn on the hoover for a few minutes to suck out the dust, thats all i usualy do to keep my laptop clean, although sometimes i left up the keyboard and clean the fan directly

Be careful of the hoover; it's possible to burn out your fan that way.

I would say cleaning your laptop once every 3 months would be sufficient. I also recommend doing so with a can of compressed air and damp q-tips.
