I got this a month ago. I like the look and backlit keyboard and most everything about it. Except for a guy who has mainly bought systems that are cheaper, I'm a little disappointed with the speed of system. All 3 of my web browsers (IE, Firefox, and Crome) are slow after they've been running for a bit. For instance, in typing in Gmail, I hit 3-4 keys and nothing. Then the letters appear at once. Old Reader and Twitter can basically freeze and it's tough to go between different windows, especially with multiple tabs open. And, even switching between programs, like Word and and Firefox can be slow. I think I even notice the fan on more than I thought I would. So, I have downloaded something wrong? Too many add ons? I'm assuming this is more a 8.1 issue than a Lenovo issue, but I'm curious. It's too bad because I love the machine otherwise.
I realize this question is probably way below the expertise of the skill level of this board, but I thought maybe someone could give me ideas.

1. Add more RAM
2. Consider removing bloatware or doing a clean install
3. Get a SSD -
By the way it is weird if your system is i7 4500U and has a small SSD (M.2 or mSata interface) a for caching purpose because it will be fast, unless you got i5 and only HDD (no small SSD cache) and 4G RAM then maybe it is little bit slower, put in a SSD to replace the HDD will make it lot faster, then consider put more RAM.
I opened 50 firefox tabs at one 1 time (to test my SDD) in my U530 and they all loaded completely under 30 seconds (yes i did using adblock plus) -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
An SSD will still speed up your system considerably if you do't have one though
