Hello Forum
I'm runing Ubuntu 12.04 on my X220. All happily working with external 23" DELL UltraSharp U2312HM using DisplayPort cable. There were some issues with setting dual screens in previous versions of Ubuntu but apparently 12.04 release fixed major problems (more info here).
I was thinking about getting another Dell display of the same configuration. Laptop has two graphical outputs DisplayPort and VGA. And Dell monitor I'm thinking about supports both of this connections.
My question: is it possible to use two screens without the UltraBase?
Thanks for help!

I believe you can do two displays - an internal + external or two external.

Thanks ZaZ. Indeed internal + external work pretty good so far.
I wanted to check with someone who actually have the kind of setput I mentioned, if there aren't any nasty quirks in terms of hardware or software. -
I currently use two external monitors with my X201 in Ubuntu. I use the Displayport and VGA from my docking station. I've had issues with dual monitors in Ubuntu on my Thinkpad before, but 12.04 was surprisingly painless to set up.
I'm not sure if hooking up both screens to the ports on the unit will give you any issues. I can't imagine that it would, the limitations should only be that of the video card. Intel's IGP still only supports a max of two monitors, as far as I know.
