Just did a clean install and I've got pretty much everything up and running.

The drivers for the fingerprint reader weren't listed on the ibm page that lists all the drivers for the t61. There is only some kind of registry patch. I have a link to these drivers:

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/TVAN-EAPFPR.html

I'm not sure if those are the right drivers though. Some help would be seriously appreciated.

I've also got 2 other problems. In the device manager I have an exclamation point next to biometric coprocessor which is under other devices. I'm thinking that this has to do with the fingerprint reader but I'm not sure.

Last problem has to do with the Atmel TPM. I downloaded the drivers and followed the installation instructions, but when I go to device manager I don't see anything that needs drivers installed except for the biometric coprocessor which I tried and it didn't work. Did it already install? Do I need another thinkvantage program to make it work?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

UPDATE: I didn't realize but the Atmel TPM driver was already installed and running in device manager. So all I really need help with now is with the fingerprint reader and the biometric coprocessor.

I posted this last night in the jstigall's install guide thread...
It is " ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software 5.6 "... Can someone with a T61 verify what software version the T61 is running?

Also, it sound like with the basic software/driver you should be able to use the fingerprint reader for logging into windows, but you might need some of the Thinkvantage stuff for using it on other things like websites if s4iscool knows what he is talking about. I agree with him... if it is true, I'd be holding off until there is a new BIOS and drivers for these...

Aside from the fingerprint reader, how many processes do you have running? Does is seem to be more stable?

Hey stallen, that was the driver for the fingerprint reader. I really appreciate all the help you've given me. If it wasn't for you and johnny 1987 I would've never attempted this in the first place.

I started the process at 11 last night. I was installing everything up until 4 in the morning. I woke up this morning and finished everything off. My computer on start runs like 55 processes. Everything is working fine except I can't get the volume buttons to show what I'm doing on the screen. They function properly but when you press them I no longer see what the volume level is. Not sure why it's doing this.

As for the stability, I can't really comment on that yet. I'll give you more of an update in few days. I've turned off turbo memory for now. I wanna make sure everything else is stable, and then I'll turn it back on to see if my computer still freezes while on battery with turbo memory enabled.

Again, thanks for all the help.

Just so I'm clear. Is this what you say is the right driver for the fingerprint reader? http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/TVAN-EAPFPR.html

Did you even install this? http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67245

I'm just trying to get everything together for myself...

I guess if the on-screen volume display is the only thing missing that's not so bad. I'm sure we'll figure it out. Anyway, I'm glad I was helpful... sounds like you need some sleep ;)

There's a on-screen hotkey app for the TP. I can't remember the name right at the moment but that's what you need to see the brightness, Caps lock, volume and anything on screen.

I've downloaded the on-screen display application and the hotkey application already. I think there is some other kind of problem.

Stallen your first link is the driver for the fingerprint reader. I installed your second link as well. I don't know what it's really done.

It seems like that should do it since that driver includes "on-screen display". Is there any application in accessories that the on-screen information can be toggled on/off. If not, maybe try to re-install that driver.

    Everything else running ok?
