    Drained battery and... no more boot on Y550!!!

    Hi all,
    first of all, please accept all my apologies if this subject has been treated yet (i had a look on the 'search' zone however) and for my poor english.
    Here are the facts:
    I'm the happy owner of a Ideapad Y550 since 5 years and had no trouble (except a keybord issue well treated by the lenovo warranty) and obviously my battery is no more efficient and work around ... 5 minutes.
    I'm used to put my laptop in sleep mode when I close it and let it plugged to the wall. But yesterday I was travelling so I unplugged my laptop, still in sleep mode and take the road. Obvioulsy during the travel the battery completely drained and today whan I wanted to start my laptop, i plugged it to the power , pushed the on/off button and nothing happened.
    The battery 'red' led is blinking as the RJ45 plugg.
    I've tried to take of the battery, still plugged, push button --> nothing
    After some searches on the net, I've tried to clear the memory, no battery, no plugg, 1 minute pushing on the on/off button, replugg push the button --> nothing
    Tried to change/swap RAM --> nothing
    Tried to change the coin CMOS battery... here the troubles begin... Is it possible to change this battery Ther's plastic around it and it doesn't seem to be a 'standard' 2032 one? Can it be the solution or is it something else?

    I'm open to any solution to save my laptop and it is also completely open at the moment waiting your proposals...!

    Thanks a lot in advance for your help because I don't have the money to buy another laptop so far and I hope solution is easy to set up.

    I can take a guess, though its a long shot. This happened to my laptop recently, and all I had to do is leave it plugged in for an hour. Evidently the superdrained battery pulled hard enough on the power brick that there was not enough voltage to startup the computer.

    I also once had a work laptop (Thinkpad) do that when the battery was shot from always being plugged in (for several years), and I was able to run it plugged in with the battery removed, but I see you tried that already... Hmmm, that should have worked, unless Lenovo snuck in a battery present sensor, and will not let it run with battery out.

    I don't think it is the coin battery, as I also had that happen on a laptop, and the system generated an alarm when the battery power was getting low. On one system when I ignored the alarm and let the battery die, it still turned on, it just hung at the BIOS prompt.

    Sorry, but out of ideas...
