    Downgrading OEM Win 8 to Win 7

    If you get a Thinkpad with Win 8 Pro, it's supposed to be eligible for downgrade to Win 7. If you do so, can you still return to Win 8 later?

    The answer is "yes to all" presuming:

    a) You get a Professional version or above, since they are the ones that are eligible for a downgrade

    b) The code for the downgrade is not used on another machine once the W7 is wiped from the ThinkPad in question and it's reverted to W8.

    It might not hurt to make the recovery discs first and test them. Unlike Windows 7, I've not seen many Windows 8 discs floating around.
