    Don't use compressed air to clean your thinkpad when its on...

    92C was the idle temp.... it was left like this at 92C for atleast 10 hours before i noticed, on my bed.. I'm suprised its still working. Luckily another quick spray and it started the fan back up.. :eek:

    The force of the air can change the alignment of the bearings. Think of a steel axle out of place and you can damage the threads on the axle. Same principle. I recommend light sprays to losen and then blowing air with your mouth being careful not to spit and then cleaning with a Q tip and perhaps with some light alcohol but only on the blades.

    if you want to clean the fan with compressed air, hold the fan blade in place to make it stationary and then blast them with the can of compressed air.

    I hope that's not the idle temperature, though - 74 degrees C is still very hot to be the idle temperature.

    92 was the idle.. I took the screenshot after getting the fan running again. I do normally take it apart to clean every few months but I was in a rush.
