Well the tech just left after doing a almost complete swap out of my computers internals. Before running World in Conflict would result in 80c+ temps....but now I barely get up to 65c. It always did run really hot but now it runs super cool. I wasn't sure if my overclocks might have done anything wrong back when I did some testing but now with these temps no idea how much i can push it. Just so you know he replace the motherboard "graphics card is permanently attached" cpu and fan assembly with new paste ; ; wish I had bought some AS5 instead for him to use. Also I would highly caution anyone who attemps to take the notebook appart. There are soooooo many different screws and its incredibly hard to keep track of them.

Well, I don't bother to put new paste on. I just use a notebook cooler. ;)

What had happen was your computer got filled with dust, especially the heatsink and fans. That prevented the cooling system from adequately cooling the components, thus they overheated. I'm not sure that full replacement was necessary, but now you have new parts with a clean fan.

Next time just use a can of compressed air and clean out the heatsink and fan blades. You will be surprised to see how much of a difference that will make.

There have been plenty of threads about this.

I don't think that was it, main reason is the computers only a week and half old other thing is the cpu made a lot of noise before, now all i hear are the fans. Not saying your wrong :D but brand new parts didn't seem like a bad idea so i just went along with it.

Yeah you're right. If this a brand new notebook, then dust wasn't the culprit.

Unfortunately I didn't run any temp monitor programs when i got it. Wasn't till I started experimenting with overclocks that I noticed problems. Also my gpu does reach the 70-75c range but my cpu never goes above 67c. Before both would almost hit 87c and crash. I new something was up when I couldn't run lost planet performance test in full screen mode, but now their are no issues. Lost planet does give me higher temps than World in conflict but I think thats to be expected. Without fan control the fans never come on till about 60c, but manually setting the fans to 1 drops my temps down to 45c.
