Hi,
I just got my T500 last week. When being held in hands and shaked horizontally, the machine makes obvious lound sound, suggesting something is either loose or not positioned. I have a T61, which has no sound at all in the same condition.
Does your T500 have the same sound as mine does?
What should I do? What is your recommendation?
Thanks!!!

Open it up and find out what is loose.. Get it out of the system since it could cause problems down the road if it is metal.. Send it back if you don't feel comfortable doing that and are worried it could be a vital component however if all functions on your laptop works, then it is probably a screw or something small like that..

Hello Superman,
Thanks for your input. I will probably look at it myself since I have to use it for work on a daily basis. Do you know whether Lenovo/IBM machine is easy for customers to open it up. I had a few Dells before and it was a horriable experience for me to do that with Dell machines.
Thanks! -
Here's the link for the manual. There are instructions on removing panals that will get you inside. I agree that it is probably something minor and wouldn't send it back without a peak inside.
