In an effort to dig deeper into the T400/T500/W500 keyboard flex problem, I decided to go snooping around the parts lookup system and check what part number my keyboard was. Seeing how some people are perfectly happy with their keyboard and others are complaining, there has to be some variability similar to the Chicony/ALPS/NMB situation for T60/T61.
I am hoping to compile a list of keyboard part numbers and relate it to the "flex problem". I guess I'll start off...
Keyboard Part Number : 42T3904
Keyboard Flex: Yes
Click here, type in your computer type and serial number (found at the bottom of your laptop), and scroll down to find out what part number your keyboard is.

I'm the same:

Hmm... maybe this might be a futile endeavour... I spent the last 10 minutes trying different serials, and have yet to encounter something different.

Raxen, et all,
Great initiative here... I'll follow this thread as more members weigh in with experience and P/N's. The keyboard P/N is one of the variables we would have gotten when I asked for the serials over on our forum.
Thanks!

I wish I had my W500 to be shipped with the NMB keyboard too!
Does your T400/T500 Keyboard Flex? Post your part number!
