I just got my laptop.....love it....one question.
When the battery is installed, I can push it up and down. Meaning, with your laptop sitting on your lap with the battery clear of anything, push up and down on it...does it move? Mine moves....it clicks a bit. Not so solid.
Anyone else have this? Is it just the deal with the T60?
Thanks....other than that this thing is amazing.

I just got a T60 as well and have the same problem. I tried both 6 and 9 cell batteries and both moved a bit...over at another forum I was reading about this and apparently this is quite common with T60's.

I had this problem on my T60, Z60, and read about it going back as far as IBM has ever had batteries stick out the back of the laptop. Its nothing new, or a issue with your laptop which would warrant a repair.

You could stick felt pads on the battery itself or inside the compartment to tighten up some of the slack. My z61m 6-cell battery wobbles ever so slightly and I plan on doing this when I get motivated enough to do so.

I have a new T60 with a 9 cell and the battery does not move at all.
-
Mine didn't move for the first couple of days, but quickly developed a small amount of play in the battery. It doesn't seem to affect anything.
-
mine does. The spring-loaded stopper on the main machine itself seems to have a have a little gap with the corresponding slot on the battery pack itself when the battery is inserted.
-
Haven't noticed anything on my R60 though it is probably difficult to get them to fit perfectly.

Well, thanks for the responses. I did call cust support and they said that it is because the T60 only has one latch versus the 2 in other Thinkpads.
Oh well...I guess it isn't a big deal.
Thanks again.
Does your 6cell battery on your T60 swivel/move?
