This may seem like a stupid question, but does FIR mean infared? I'm interested in getting this particular IBM sometime later in the year, but if possible I'd like the luxury of being able to use the infared with my PDA. I'd appreciate any responses, thanks.

The T42 has infrared. FIR stands for Fast Infrared.
