    Does the thinkpad bios only allow particular Win 7 OS'?

    If i was to purchase an x201 with Win 7 home 32 bit (the cheapest option) and then, errrr 'obtain' the professional version OEM or retail, would the bios still accept it- or is it 'locked' only to OEM versions supplied by Lenovo?

    OEM Windows 7 is activated through SLIC embedded in your BIOS. But it doesn't mean that you're stuck with this. You're free to install any OSes. Non-OEM Windows version can be activated through key, not through SLIC. :)
