Does the ThinkPad R61 14.1" WXGA +TFT screen have excess glare, i.e. in bright light, are objects behind seen reflected (particularly overhead lighting/bulbs).

Am asking this because I am excessively sensitive to bright glare (this was a problem with the Dell Inspiron 'TruBright' ( 'too bright' for me ... :) ) 15.4" WXSGA+ screen) & may need to get an anti-glare filter if there is excess glare/reflection (though I read somewhere that TFT LCD's, esp. in ThinkPads do not have this problem & the ThinkPad screen is one of the best for laptops.

    Thanks

I believe that the R61 only has glossy screens available on select models (R61i?) and these would be well marked as glossy. Otherwise the Thinkpad screens are matte. Basically if you're configuring your own model, matte will be the default.

Nope, I work with my TP on a desk with a reading lamp (halogen bulb) shining right down on it and I see no glare at all. Not even as I type.

    Very satisfied.
