Is it any good? Wondering if I should get a USB speakerphone like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320179327699&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=011

yes it does...it works alright but i can't contest to how it works on voip.

it works very well, i have tried it many times...and mics have been on all T-series for along time now...at least dating back 5 years

1. the stadard gain is pretty low so you may have to "boost the gain" (open master volume, under mic, click advanced, then check mic boost at the bottom)
2. is it any good...it is not bad VOIP as long as you speak near it but for serious work (e.g., voice analysis, fourier trasforms, power levels..) you will get much better resuts with an external mic (and good set of phones). for V -
Would it be fine for conference calls? (assuming in quiet room with multiple people trying to speak near the laptop)
-
Yes I have done it without the external USB speakerphones, and it has worked fine.

Great, thanks for the advice!

Google for a program called NoiseFree VoiP, it is free till December, and it works great at cancelling out background noise. I use it with Skype all the time, and it is awesome (or so the other parties say). It is a software solution. Pretty neat stuff.

Does the T61P have a built-in Microphone?
