My T61's optical drive is DVD Recordable. I just bought brand new DVD+RW discs by Verbatim. Tried to copy dolders/files from HDD to the DVD+RW, but got error message "Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this folder". Does any knowledgable folks here know what the problem is and how to fix it? Thank you :)
(And BTW the property shows the new DVD+RW has free space: 0, capacity: 0  They are supposed to be 4.7GB!)

You probably need to format the disc.

ummmm, try formating the disc, verbatum has problems when used with some brands of burners.

Thank you both so much! I reformatted and it's now working :D (however when the DVD is inserted the "DVDRAM drive" icon became " CD drive", maybe doesn't matter...)

The funny thing is, each time after I have completed reformatting a disc, the D: drive icon disappears from My Computer (though I can still remove/insert disc). So far I have no other solution than to restart the computer (without taking out the disc). Then reformat another disc, and the whole process repeats. Does this mean my DVD drive is defective somehow?
