Is there any requirement what software/files must be in the computer before using the rescue & recovery discs to boot and reinstall everything in the computer? In other words, whether you randomly deleted some files and programs, system-related, or you used DBAN unsuccessfully to somehow messed up the erasing process, etc. etc. -- in other words, suppose the contents on your HDD is either completely empty or is in a mess, then if you shut down the computer with the power button (let's say the OS is no longer working). Then you put in the Start Recovery boot disc. Will it boot and start the recovery process as supposed to?
(The recovery discs were from IBM, not created by me.)_

Reason I ask is I intend to use DBAN, but with no certainty it will work out, so the HDD may be in a mess. Just worried about the possibility that the computer will never be back running again :(

R & R wipes the drive regardless of its contents.
