Hello all,
I am in the process of selling my Acer Aspire 9301awami. Although the machine performs well, I can't stand the glossy, reflective screen. I've used the IBM T60 laptop and the screen is far better than mine.
I was looking into getting a R60, but I just wanted to make sure that it is not one of these glossy types. The descriptions sometimes confuse me as some say both TFT and LCD in the spec and each manufacturer seems to have their own standard name for their screen technology.
If anyone could shed some light I'd be grateful. Thanks.

I think all of the business class laptops, which the R61 is, have matte screen, as opposed to the Aspire that you have, which uses a glossy screen.
-
I know on one of the screen options you can choose glossy but forgot which one it was. It was either the T61 or the R61 I forget, someone will chime in later to confirm.
-
All T61s come with matte screens.
The matte screen is standard on the R61; glossy is available as an option if you so desire.
Edit: After checking the website to confirm my thoughts, it appears glossy is not an option for the R61s. -
That's great, thanks guys.

Is it just my computer or is the 14" Integrated R61 and Dedicated R61 the same price? The specs are the same lol.

My R61i has a matte screen, but I am pretty sure when ordering I was asked if I wanted glossy also.
-
paul is correct, for the moment, only the R61i versions have the option for glossy screens.
-
I believe the R60 uses the same panel as the T60. The share quite a few parts, not just the screens.
-
wow , just noticed. that might be the 1st thinkpad that came with a glossy screen.
Does the R60 have the same screentype as T60?
