    Does the standard depot warranty from Lenovo for a laptop bought in the US hold worldwide ?

    It does not. International coverage is available depending on machine type.

    You should check the IWS page, but since I know you're looking at a T42 and T61, I can generalize that almost all T42 models DO have international coverage and most T61 have limited or no international coverage. The idea of the T61 is that you phone them afterwards and purchase international coverage, which I found was very expensive.
