I like the Trackpoint over the touchpad. I know some people disable the touchpadl, but I wonder if any Trackpoint users have found the touchpad to be useful?

Unless I lose the cap, the touchpad is just sitting there disabled.

I always disable the touchpad.

Same here. I've been running a T40 for 7 years--haven't found any task for the touchpad that isn't easier to do with the trackpoint.
Of course, it ruins me for using other non-thinkpad computers, but I actually prefer the trackpoint to using a mouse. -

I used to use it for shortcuts...but gave up on it after it opened up programs when I didn't want it to.

What about for winning a "pointing device that least resembles a (removed)" contest? -
i use it for scrolling with the horizontal and vertical areas set to their maximum respective sizes and clicking turned off.

I disable my touchpad.

Does anyone of the enthusiastic TrackPoint users have a decent profile of parameters for xorg.conf? The default setup feels rather awkward to me.
TIA -
I use the touchpad for scrolling + tapzones for media player control. Definitely more convinent then using FN + arrow keys.

If I just browse the net, without doing any serious work, I actually often use the touchpad. Once I would have sworn I'd never use it and only use the trackpoint. I find it more comfortable than using the "cats-tongue" trackpoint cap, which I prefer for accuracy. I still think the trackpoint is the better navigation device, but the touchpad is gaining in. Though I'd still consider an X200s (which doesn't have the touchpad) as if missing it doesn't make a difference.
Does anyone who uses the Trackpoint primarily use the touchpad for anything?
