I have bought several Thinkpads before, so I'm used to them taking forever to arrive, but I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get free upgraded shipping, or something similar for their notebook being delayed so long?

I called today and wanted make some demands, but I am at work so I decided to wait until after work and see what I can get them to do for me, if anything.

I really need this notebook, my T61 is crapping out on my(I've definitely beat the crap out of it)

The estimated shipping date is just that; an estimate.

I was one of the fortunate people to have their T400 shipped to them (MAYBE due to the 4 cell choice of the battery.. I don't know). I selected ground shipping but they upgraded it to express shipping for me even though they shipped out the laptop much earlier than the expected ship date. I never even called them to ask about my laptop.

Anyways if you recieved upgraded shipping, it should say EXPRESS (instead of ground) and although they don't mention it anywhere.. products shipped EXPRESS seem to be delivered close to first thing in the morning between 9-10am. The reason I say this is because I looked at all the reference numbers for my package, one of them contained information about shipments for approximately 50 or so packages spread across the west coast (Not sure if I was supposed to have access to that information with the referencer number).

All of the packages were labeled EXPRESS and I would say 95% were delivered before 10am. Those that were delivered in the afternoon were on the 2nd try.

Since the laptop is signature required, I thought you guys might want to know the time range in when it might come (if UPS has labeled EXPRESS)

Ok, DJ, I'm not stupid, I know what the word Estimated means.

I am asking if anyoneone has successfully called in and complained about the estimated date moving back, and been able to get anything for free. It is pretty common to get upgraded shipping or something for free when you call into a company and complain.

I plan on trying in about an hour and a half, but I thought I would ask to see if it is worth my time.

its worth a shot, lenovo effs so many things up that they end up having to give away free stuff to customers ALL the time...remember the X200 128GB SSD incident? (if not lets just say they gave away free 64 GB SSD for the website being false... thats around 600 dollars a pop.)

I got $100 cash back, and then lenovo paid for my warranty [3yr accidental protection] for my T61p. My laptop took over 3 months to arrive.

For my x200 (where I will be getting the free 64g SSD) I had delays due to bs credit verification issues...so they put me as a critical order to the production warehouse when it finally got pasted their credit department. I hope to have the laptop next week...
