I can't decide on the screen for my next thinkpad
XGA is too big (i've always had XGA)... but 1400x1050 is too small on 14.1" ... i wish it was native 1280x960
(i know you can change the DPI fonts and text sizes in applications, but what's the point, then you may as well get XGA)
Not sure about 1400x1050 on 15"... the size for one thing but also because 15" is not very portable (i'm female).
I feel weird... cuz all the reviews & opinions "love" SXGA, but whenever i look at then i think it's small and i'll get a headache, especially on 14"
Anyone else?

Perhaps the WXGA+(1440x900) on the Z61t would be more to your liking. The SXGA+ seems perfect on my T42. I'd even consider it on a 14". You just see so much more of the screen. Perhaps you should check some out if you can.

I LOVE SXGA+ on my T30 (14.1) on linux.
Windows however make fonts a bit too small. Try enlarging some of the fonts, and especially in web browser. -
But about the portability, the weight (6 lbs) and size (1.2x12.95x10.5),... Do you take that to work EVERY day?? And carry it to meetings there 3-4 times every day?? -
I liked xga on 12" ... i found sxga+ on 14.1" too small for me
I calculated the pixels per square inch (higher number means smaller text but more view), hope this helps someone:
14.1 xga: 8224
14.1 sxga+: 15372
12.1 xga: 12098
14.1 wxga: 11596
14.1 wxga+: 14694
15" sxga+: 13611
17" sxga: 9449
19" sxga: 7594
And i really liked flexview... even at slight angles it is significantly better than non-flexview when you compare side-by-side, and improves readability by reducing washout. Too bad flexview isn't avail in 14.1" ! -

I agree with SkiBunny that FlexView is great, almost a must for me now. The PVA screen on my old E7010 was already in a class of its own, now the 15" IPS is in a world of its own; I can't imagine having any lesser screen on any future laptops.
With regards to the weight of the 15" Thinkpads, I don't notice any difference between my T60 and my old E7010. Comparing my 15" T60 to my old 14" T42 is another story though, as the old T4x series was pretty slim and light, and hence more representative of the thin-and-light category of notebooks than the new T60s. My older T30 looks like a brick next to my T60 but still weighs about the same. -
i dont like SXGA+ as well, i have poor eyes. yet big is better than small.
Does anybody hate SXGA on their thinkpad?
