Does a Thinklight or backlit keyboard on Edge or L series exist?

Thanks....I've had people tell me there is.....as well as the Edge having a backlit keyboard?

 

Since I've never seen an Edge, I can't help you there. Sorry! I did edit your thread title, though, so maybe some of the Edge or L users will see it and respond.

Neither are mentioned in the tech specs, but reviewer's for the Edge (on Lenovo's website) mention they love the backlit keyboard? And I have had (twice now) rep's in chat say that ALL Thinkpad's have a Thinklight.

Often, people don't think of the new Edge when they use the term ThinkPad. They refer to T43, T61, T400, T510, W701, X201, etc...

 

I know this doesn't help your specific case, but I know all of the "budget" Thinkpads (the past R series, etc.) had a yellow Think-light. All of the T series, and W series has a white light, and the only thinkpad with OUT a thinklight (that I know of) is the Tablets.

I used a Thinkpad SL series very briefly once at a Lenovo repair shop, and I didn't see a Think-light on them. The L series is basically the same design of the past SL series, so I would venture a guess that the L series does NOT have a Think-light.

 

As I've always said, when in doubt, go with *book!

 

I have R400 and it has normal blue-ish/white led ThinkLight and not yellow.

 

That is because the R400 uses the same top case as the T400, hence why R400 is really a T400 in disguise. So how did you go with the repair?

 

Well....according to the books (thanks JaneL) neither the L-series or the Edge have a Thinklight or a backlit keyboard.........bummer.

Ill have time to go to service center this thursday and thats when it hopefully will be repaired.
