I want to purchase an X60 - what's the difference between a Duo2Core 5600 and the 7200? Lenovo only offers (at least a far as I can see) the 5600 version and don't understand why. Thanks

    Hi there,

d2c t5600 has a 2mb cache on the processor with top speed of 1.83ghz
    and d2c t7200 has a 4mb cache with minimum speed of 2ghz.

The bigger the cache, the better transfer rate but then it depends on the optimization of the hardware transfer (in theory).

As for processor speed, the higher the better, but the i dont think a couple of mhz will do a major difference. I favor the 7200 only because of the bigger cache on die.

    Btw, I am getting a t7200 2ghz x60 soon. Welcome to the x60 family =).

Only if you are doing CPU intensive work like coding video will the CPU make a huge difference.
