    or you have to order an optical drive and put it in the ultrabase? If not, what is built-in in a ultrabase x6? Thanks!

    No, but it has an ultrabay so you can use the same drives their bigger laptops offer.

    optical drive for the base is part number 40Y8623. the base also has a plethora of ports of all types, lock, speakers and a security alarm integrated with the laptop in case someone tries to walk off with it.
