I buy only Thinkpads, one important reason is for the best feeling keyboard and the matt screen. Are Thinkpads the only one or one of the few that have matt screen? Are their keyboard indeed the best? (I know the latter is subjective but is this a commonly held opinion?)
Of course, quality and style (non flashy!) are also important to me.
FYI I've had T61, X61, XS200, X220.

Well, the keyboard has changed from the one that you're used to and while it's arguably still the best (island) one around, the layout is vastly different and quite a few of us got upset over the fact. The only way to tell would be to test one of the newer systems in person and verify whether the new style is acceptable for you.
Screens have actually gotten better over the last couple of generations, but unless you pick a top-option for the given model (FHD IPS for T440s/T450s) or 3K IPS on 15.6" units, you'll be staring at junk, literally.
HPs and Dells - in their business lines - had some nice LCDs as well. -
Thanks, appreciate your reply. Didn't know the new keyboard issues. Might test some in stores. I'm thinking of getting another one when the next big sale season comes. My X220 has been great w/o problem for 4 years. I want to get something similar or better.
Does Thinkpad have the best keyboard and matt screen?
