Among laptops, Thinkpad has the best keyboard. What about netbooks? Is Lenovo still the leader in keyboard?

Possibly. I have tried netbooks from Asus, Acer, and HP and was not that impressed with the keyboards. The HP is not bad...

There is no ThinkPad engineering involved with the netbooks. In fact, I can tell you those on the ThinkPad design team won't touch any netbook with a 10-foot pole, they hate them. Most of these netbooks are designed by Taiwanese ODMs such as Quanta, Compal or Wistron.

That said, the keyboard is no worse than other netbooks, but it's not the best either. I'd say the HP mini 1000 takes that award.

I've used a few and the best one I've seen is the Mini Note.

Sorry, but the HP Mini-Note (and the Mini 1000 to a lesser extent) have the best keyboards among any mini-laptop, up to and including $4000 Vaio TTs.

I really like my Lenovo S10, I looked at the HP, keyboard was ok, but I just can't deal with the hp touchpad with separate buttons.

Read what i said. I didn't say I have used the lenovo netbook. I said I was not impressed with the ones I tried, but said the HP was not bad. Others have chimed in and said that the HP is basically the best in that regard. So I don't know why you're saying "sorry"...

Because netbooks seem so... unlike Lenovo. Or rather unlike ThinkPads. (ThinkPads are what make Lenovo, so it's easy to equate the two. :p)

Not for those of us who knew IBM Thinkpads. Today's Thinkpads are much worse in comparison. Lenovo basically bought the Thinkpad name, while the rest of their chintzy lineup is their own doing.

I completely agree. I don't buy into the idea that Lenovo is completely butchering the ThinkPad line, though. The new models have a little more flex and don't feel quite as solid, but they are still the best built notebooks around. Plus, Lenovo has brought some good things to the ThinkPad family... like the X200 and X300. :D
