I am considering a T400 for college and through the CPP program, I can get one with really good specs for $1000. So I was wondering does Lenovo give out coupons for some back to school savings next month? I know they are random but did they do it last year?

Yeah, it's very rare for any coupons to stack with CPP discounts. CPP is usually the very best deal even compared to non-CPP deals/coupons.

Do also check to see if your school bookstore or technology store has special bundles -- sometimes the school will work with Lenovo to get additional years of onsite warranty and/or accident-protection thrown into a config for very little extra $$$. I've seen bundled deals beat CPP this way, downside though is you're often limited in how much you can change the bundle configuration.
