I've been waiting 2 weeks for my glacially advancing ship date (Feb. 23) and was wondering if Lenovo ever ships in advance of the ship date without updating their "Order Statue" web page? Or worse, will the 23rd arrive and pass without the "In Process" notice changing? Arrrgh!

I hate to bearer of bad news, but Lenovo is of late renowned for long shipping delays on certain model series. Especially the Z or certain configurations of the X60 tablet. What is it you have on order?
[edit]
I see you're getting a T60. I'm not sure what people are experiencing with that. -
i can only speak for myself, but i ordered a z61t on 1/2/07, and it shipped about a half-week ahead of the estimated shipping date.
then, i returned it to get a new z61t (the first one had some slight hardware defects), and that one shipped about a week and a half ahead of the shipping date (they told me i was on the "priority" list).
so for me, even with the infmaous z series, both were shipped in a fairly timely manner.
btw... Stoic, i see that you have a z60t, is the T60 to replace that? How was your experience with the z60t? -
Yes, it is the T60. I discuss the specs here...

I bought my Z60t at Office Depot. I love the build quality, hate the graphics and screen quality. It's a 14" WS, 1280X768 res running off the Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset which can't run Vista Aero. I have a Sony VAIO TR3A and it's screen is much brighter and sharper than the Z60t. -

My T60 has been delayed. Ordered Feb. 4, new estimated shipping date Mar. 5.

Quite honestly, Lenovo's order web site sucks! From the outside, it appears to me that their different departments are not aware of each other's statuses! The website gives you one answer, sales support gives you a completely different answer, and then manufacturing and shipping do an entirely different thing! I am willing to bet that even God doesn't know what's going on in Lenovo!!!
My case: Z61m ordered in Nov 2006, delivery date set to 12/20 (about 4 weeks from order date). On 12/18, spoke to sales support and was advised that there was a delay and the new delivery date would be 1/16/2007. On 12/19, received an automated email from Lenovo saying laptop had shipped and tracking number would be available next day on the order website. Went and checked, and sure enough, the UPS tracking number was available and UPS indicated that the system had already arrived in Louiseville, KY.
Go figure....
Lenovo's order fulfillment software and supply chain management software is in reality a random number generator... -
Well, my ship date is still tomorrow the 23rd. If it gets bumped a week or even two, I'm going to cancel the order. I originally ordered a M1210 from Dell and canceled it within 24 hours because I had talked myself into spending WAY too much ($2400 w/shipping and service agreement) after I tricked it out to the specs I wanted. My comfort level is under $2k and I was able to design my T60 just the way I wanted for just a few dollars over that with the service plan and shipping. I just found that Costco is selling the M1210 with near my original specs for $1799 and they have a 6 month return policy and free shipping. To be honest, I've never been unhappy with any Dell I've ever owned and even though I like my Thinkpad, I've not made a religion of it.

I'm sorry about your experiences, but to shed some light on the other side of the argument, I ordered a CTO WSXGA+ 15.4" T60 on February 6th. Originally, the shipment date was March 2nd and the order status showed that date and "in process" until today, when it shipped early. Acaurora, I believe, is in the same boat as me. I have also called about price adjusting to their latest deal (it would save me $130), and they said that it was possible and the sales rep told me she would put a request through, but that it would not happen until I received the laptop.
That said, if you can not wait, the M1210 is an amazing laptop as well. I've played around on a friend's and very likely would have gotten one if it weren't for the small screen size. Also, I'm not sure what your specs were, but CompUSA and some other stores carry (severely limited) T60's which you may want to take a look at. Good luck with your laptop choosing! -
Yeah, I noticed that Best Buy is carrying Lenovos now, too. They have a T60 but with a slower cpu, slower hd, etc. (although it is a widescreen). Once you add on the Extended Service Agreement it almost costs as much as the one I configured (I got the pre-Valentines day offer). So I won't be going there.
What's bugging me now is that I should have ordered it with XP Pro. I've been reading bad things about Vista and probably could have got the Vista upgrade free and had a choice to go either way after I used Vista for awhile. My ship date is scheduled for the 23rd and if they delay it, I will probably call and change the order to XP instead.
I just wish the retail stores that carry Thinkpads would stock the more powerful configs so it would be easier to evaluate and avoid this waiting. I have to say that Dell has spoiled me. I never had to wait more than a week for a system to ship. -
I ordered my T60 from Lenovo Canada on February 9/07. Us Canadians don't get notification of delivery/shipment/etc via the Lenovo web site. But on my order sheet it stated an estimated delivery time of 3-4 weeks. I got it in 11 days. IIRC, it seems that many Canadian orders seem to be delivered relatively quickly.

just a FYI....mine was scheduled to ship 3/21 and i got a notice today it shipped today. status has changed to shipped as well!
3 1/2 weeks early!!??!!!
Does Lenovo ever ship in advance of notification
