I see that a lot of people are stressing over better brands of LCDs, batteries and keyboards, etc. over on the Dell forum because Dell uses several brands on their laptops.

Does 14" T61p have this problem? That there's several brands of screens etc.?

If so, can someone list which ones are good/bad?

14" standard or wide? Standard screens are mostly TMD(Toshiba), they aren't bad, brightness is good enough, quality is good. Need to calibrate it with software to get best results.

The samsung 14" standard is said to be a little bit better then the TMD. Seems like this one is rare to get. Both are pretty equal though.

Wide screen I don't know much about but I think it is Samsung vs LG. Just search around the site.

The Samsung screen that arrived in a WUXGA T61p was the worst I've ever seen. Severe light leakage and so dim it was barely visible in a dark room.
Lenovo claims it was within specification. IMHO this proves that Lenovo has very poor quality standards to go with their abysmal customer service.

By 14" T61p, I mean the standard ratio (4:3) workstation one, sorry.
