I'm thinking about getting a Lenovo X200, but I'm concerned about the screen being too small. Can someone post a picture of 2 documents/webpages side by side on their 12" X200? Is it comfortable to use that way? I currently have a T61 at 1680x1050 resolution. Thanks.

Pixel density is similar, how about you take some paper and cut out a 12" hole and see for yourself :)

I can take a picture for you, but it isn't fantastic by any means, since you'd have to zoom out (if you wanted no scroll) and then the text isn't as readable.

edit: [IMG] sorry about the bad photo but you get the idea.

You can just barely view everything in the margins. If you center it with scrolling.

The answer might be the X201s or X301, both offer WXGA+ resolution.

I do a lot of side by side stuff on my x200s' screen (1280x800). Pretty much looks like what jaredy shows you. It's very usable.

IMO, text wise, a higher resolution screen won't help you unless you're really picky about your font clarity. Actual size on your screen is gonna be small in either case, one because of high pixel density, the other because of zoom in order to fit everything on the screen.

But if it's really important to you, get the WXGA+, better looking fonts, and program's GUI take up less space (this is the actual problem with side by side programs)

On my old 12.1" WXGA Averatec, I usually used all my applications maximized. At least to me, the resolution was too limited to use anything side by side, other than a chat sidebar. As a T500 user with a WSXGA+ screen, I think you'll really feel the screen real estate downgrade - personally, I would suggest the X201s' 1440x900 screen if you can afford it and the pixel density's not too high for you.

I don't really want the X200s, X301 or the T400s because they have 1.8" HDD. I already have an Intel X25m SSD 2.5" that I would want to move over.
@jaredy. I didnt see the graphic. Maybe a print screen would be easier? especially if the dpi is about the same. Thx.

    The X200s (and X201s, I believe) both use 2.5" drives, not 1.8".

    I can confirm that...I just installed a 2.5" enclosure in my x200s
