I just picked up a new IdeaPad S340 Laptop and wanted to set it up with a docking station at home so I can (a) use a monitor (b) power laptop w/lid closed and (c) keep it off my desk. Lenovo is not showing any docks for the Ideapad line.

Q; there must be a cheap & easy way to accomplish this as I am not the first to want this functionality. Any suggestions?

ThinkPad generally is what was associated with docks iirc. These days everything is usb c / thunderbolt so you have no need to look for a model specific "dock"

Thanks. Are there specific non-oem docks in mind that will power the pc w/lid closed? I am not seeing anything (as in seeing any descriptions that state they have a separate power button).
