This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Docking problems

    Anyone else having docking problems with T61p's? I can work all day in the dock, all is well, I can press the button, wait, eject, and work standalone for a while, all is well. When I return to my desk and re-dock, more times than not, the system will spontaneously power off the instant it is engaged in the dock.

    Assuming this is either a Vista issue (saw a technote that looks simiar but not exact) or a BIOS issue.

    Probably a firmware (Vista doesn't like to work with a lot of things) problem. I'd email IBM and they should get it sorted out in a few days or so.

    Assume you mean email Lenovo, doubt IBM cares :) but I may do that. I would assume it's probably already been noted and coming in a BIOS update soon if that's the deal. If not, Vista SP1.
