I'd like to get a Laptop Docking Station for my T42? What's the difference between a:
Port Replicator
and
Dock
Should I go with the IBM branded one or try and get a cheap, no name brand one?

In general a Port replicator serves more as a place to slide in your notebook and have it attached to a monitor, separate keyboard and mouse so you do not have to hassle with plugging in a bunch of wires every time you get back home or to the office...also essentially turns your notebook into a desktop machine. The docking station can offer extra drives or additional ports your notebook doesn't have. -
So if I want to use it for just plugging it into my monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer, would the Port Replicator work?
Also, should I buy it from IBM or where did you buy it from? -
a Port Replicator would suit just fine, I'd look outside of IBM.com for the best prices on a replicator. www.NewEgg.com would be a good place to look, www.ecost.com often has some good deals also.

what areas would I miss out on by not getting the docking station?
