There is no support for DVI port even with a dock for z61t. Can I get an advanced dock and put a PCI express card with DVI port and get DVI output ??. Does this work. Anyone tried this configuration ???

can you even do something like that to a Dock?

Last time I checked a Dock was just something that had ports and you just connect it to your laptop underneath, I never saw anything about adding some kind of feature via third party card, like you can add/upgrade a card to a desktop. It has to be something that the manufacturer offers.

heck correct me if I'm wrong on this, I just never heard of a dock being user upgradeable before, unless I'm understanding you wrong.

No, to my understanding it doesn't support graphics cards.

The Advanced Dock does have a PCI Express slot, but only supports low profile cards.

I'm probably wrong. I thought I'd read somewhere that it couldn't handle graphics, but maybe it's just because there are few compatible offerings? So it's low profile, but I don't see if it's x1 or x4? I doubt it's x16, but it would be nice.

I doubt it really matters as your selection of low profile cards is gonna be limited.
