I am not sure whether I ever had it available when on battery, but I certainly don't remember I did. Now every time I bring my x200s with me and turn on it with battery, I always get "Fingerprint system not available. Please press blah blah to log in with password".
I had just updated with the newest version of the fingerprint software and it didn't solve the problem.

Do you honestly think three hours is enough time to legitimately expect a response? Your post isn't even off the first page, which is why people usually bump them. There's to be no bumps for 24 hours as per the forum rules.

Just happy to report that today I didn't get that message while on battery

I get the same error. I wait about 5 seconds, though, and it usually ends up going away.

I get that error EVERY TIME. However, within 5 seconds it always finds the fingerprint reader and allows me to log in without issue.

I think there's a but that replaces the Please Wait Message with this one.
-
My wait was much longer than 5 seconds, the "Please wait" looked like to stay there forever, for more than 1 minute I believe, and then "Fingerprint system not available". Once I didn't have enough patience and pressed Alt+Ctrl+Del while it still said "Please wait", then the screen went frozen, the cursor wouldn't work right, and I had to press the power button to force shutdown.
In any case, whenever the "Please wait" has lasted more than reasonable time, I knew it's going to be "not available".
Today was an exception, and I'm hoping more days will be like today
Do you (and when) get "Fingerprint system not available"??
