It seems very similar in the photos. Are they identical?

Based on these specs from the TABOOK, it would appear that the chassis's are the same.

    6-cell: starting at 5.66 lb (2.57kg); 9-cell: starting at 6.01 lb (2.72kg)
Display cover: Glass-fi ber reinforced plastic; Base: Carbon-fi ber reinforced plastic

    W510:
    HD+: 14.68" x 9.65" x 1.26-1.41"; 372.8mm x 245.1mm x 32-35.8mm
    FHD: 14.68" x 9.65" x 1.29-1.44"; 372.8mm x 245.1mm x 32.8-36.6mm
    FHD MultiTouch: 14.68" x 9.65" x 1.35-1.57"; 372.8mm x 245.1mm x 34.3-39.8mm

As far as I know, the only immediately obvious difference would be the W510 chassis would have an opening for the mythic USB 3.0 port.

The chassis should be the same, just replacing some of the USB 2.0 ports with USB 3.0. Also, the W510 has higher end options for screen, CPU, and GPU.

And most likely a slightly modded vents/fan/HS for better cooling.

Doesn't the W510 have multi touch and/or full gamut FHD, which the T510 doesn't have? Do you have or have seen the W510?

The T510 also has those options. But the W510 has options for a quad-core processor, has a much more powerful GPU (and therefore requiring a more robust cooling system), and USB 3.0 ports.

Hmm, If they use the same mobo in both series, maybe they even keep the same BIOS options (eg. for GPU to IGP switching). That would be awesome.
