Im thinking of replacing a T60p 15" display panel. There seem to be more T43p 15" display panels available. Are these the same screens?

Where is a good place to buy one?

It will not work and you may fry the motherboard if you try. Are you talking 14" or 15"?

actually, it will work.   the LVDS connector pinouts, panel dimensions, and hinge bolt patterns are identical.   i've installed about a dozen 14.1" and 15.0" T60 panels in T4x systems (and vice versa) without issue.   nothing will get fried in this case.

if it helps, this chart is further evidence supporting my first-hand experience: TFT display - ThinkWiki

someone has put a 15 inch QXGA LCD in the T60p with slight modification. As erik have said the T60 4:3 LCD panels are compatible with T4x laptops, which is another good thing about thinkpads.

I could have sworn I saw I saw somewhere that someone had tried this and it didn't turn out well, but I don't know, they all run together. You don't need any evidence to support your claim. You do more of this than I.

that's very possible.   some people's experiments don't always turn out as they should. :p
