nope... just Display Port and VGA.
you can always use a DisplayPort to HDMI converter if anything -
Nope, but they all come with DisplayPort out, which can be converted to HDMI with a <$10 converter. No quality lost, and audio-out is also preserved (although the latter is not true for all adapters--read carefully).

only X1 and SL/L series have HDMI (X1 has a mini-HDMI).

I have a T410 and am considering buying a T420 but based on my experience with the T410, I don't entirely trust Lenovo on the Displayport -> HDMI functionality.
For a while I was able to use my Displayport adapter and had the audio working fine - then Lenovo updated the Nvidia display drivers and the that was the end of the audio. I never could get it working again despite using older video drivers and other attempted workarounds including buying a 2nd adapter. Lenovo more or less confirms the problem and officially states that audio will work with ONE particular adapter they have tested - one that isn't even available to customers outside the United States. This is the one issue that makes me reconsider buying another Thinkpad. As far as I know, Lenovo choose to go with Displayport in order to save a tiny bit on paying HDMI royalties, but the cost to their customers has likely been much greater. -
See, the problem with HDMI is that it's quite limited in bandwidth.
The current xx20 generation will definitely work, assuming you buy an adapter that passes audio properly. -
Speaking of Displayport, whose Displayport to HDMI adapter or cable is capable of properly passing BOTH the video AND the audio signals?
I tried this one and it doesn't pass audio:

Or is there some magic incantation or configuration step necessary for audio? When I plug it into my Pioneer plasma the proper screen appears in the monitor control panel. The screen can definitely handle both audio and video, as the port I've tried handles several different devices (camera, phone, Tivo, receiver, etc). There are two HDMI audio output shown in the sound panel but neither activates when the monitor is plugged in. I'm assuming this is because the cable isn't doing some sort of handshaking properly?
So whose cable or adapter properly passes both? -
I've been thinking of getting this one, a Startech, but I've been reading mixed reviews about it on the net.

I bought this exact one and I am currently using it on a T420s to connect to my 32" TV. Audio and video works perfectly.
