I had a clean install after I received my notebook by following the guide in this forum. But recently, I had blue screen randomly, maybe one or twice a day.

On the blur screen, the message says "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

    And the technical information is:
    *** stop: 0x000000D1 (0x000049c 0x000002 0x0000000 0x895c8317)
    *** athr.sys -Address 895c8317 base at 89547000

The “athr.sys” is the wireless card driver and I already installed the latest version.

I called the technical support. I was told to uninstall and reinstall the wireless driver, but it didn’t work.

The second time when I made the call, I was told my hard drive is bad. I don’t believe so since the blue screen message shows nothing relevant to hard drive and it looks fine for me.

The third time, I made the call and I was told to install turbo memory driver.

But I have a question. I don't have turbo memory in my notebook. Do I really need to install turbo memory driver without turbo memory? (I don’t have Bluetooth, so I didn’t install the relevant drivers for Bluetooth.) Will that cause new problem?

I would have given the same advice as the first tech support rep gave you... to uninstall and re-install the wireless card driver.

If you are certain that you do not have turbo memory, then don't install the turbo memory driver. You don't install hardware drivers for hardware that is not installed on the system.

Did you manually install all of the drvers yourself? Or did you use System Update? Did you use the Chipset and Matrix Storage manage drivers from Lenovo or Intel. Try which ever ones you didn't use instead.

If you tried all of this. I would insist on talking to an upper level tech support person since the lower level tech support isn't providing you a solution.

I'm sure I don't have turbo memory and Bluetooth.
I can not remember exactly which driver is from which place, but I just followed the clean install guide in this forum loyally and installed all those drivers in the same order. After that, all the updates are through windows auto update.

Hopefully just Windows update and not driver updates that Windows update often attempts to install.

Do you mean that I shouldn't install the updates for drivers found by windows auto update and install only those updates for windows?

The guide starts off by directing to read all of the F.A.Q. at the bottom of the guide. Since you followed the guide loyally, I just figured you read all of the F.A.Q. Here is one of them:
