How durable is this laptop? Can I stack a textbook (ie. 4lb or 2kg) on it? I seriously don't want to buy a case for this thing. Is this as durable as a cellphone? Cellphone is defined as a device that can be dropped lightly (ie. placing an edge on a desk, then letting the rest free fall), be mixed in the same container as keys, resist crushing/pressure, etc...casual use basically.

Some of the examples might be a bit silly or show that I don't "treasure" my laptop, but the main reason I bought a Lenovo is because of its hardware reliability.

Where did you get the definition of Cellphone?

You can stack a few books on the laptop, but it is not advisable as the screen may develop a white pressure spot if you put too much weight on the top of the laptop.

No it does not need to be babied. It is not as durable as a cell phone.
    A case is recommended.
It is a ThinkPad and it meets my expectations of ThinkPad design and usablity at the price range it is sold.
A rugged or semi-rugged notebook such as Toughbook would meet the level of durabiltiy used in your cell phone example, not the x120e or any of the competitors in its class.

How's the fit? Is it a properly-sized sleeve for the X120e, or is there room for the laptop to shift around? Kind of curious, since the seller doesn't list exact inside dimensions.

I went back and double-checked the size. I got the 12" one. It's not a perfect fit. I'd say you have an extra half-inch on either side when using it with the 6-cell battery. But there's no way it's falling out and does it's job.

I just picked up the 13-inch one for my x220T - hoping it fits.

If you guys don't like the ebay one, you can check out bestbuy's website for a kensington sleeve. There are several options....
