So I'm in class, right... reading all these threads about the T61's screen being so off-center. I'm like "yeah that is kinda bad...", and then I look at my own T60. I suddenly notice... the frame is slightly wider on the left than it is to the right (I'm talking about the flat part of the frame, not the part that curves outward - that part is even on both sides). Am I dreaming? Is this real? Is my T60 a T61 in disguise (at least on the LCD frame part) ???

Looks the same as my T60p. The screen is slightly off center. Not as much as the 14.1" T61 though

Oh ok. I guess I just never really noticed that even my screen was off center. Leads me to not think of the T61's off-centeredness to be that bad, although I dont remember which it is, the 14 or the 15.4 that looks HORRIDLY off-centered though.
I guess the T60 owners like us got it lucky as we have the minimal amount of off-centeredness, if thats even a word, haha. -
yeah, thats normal for the t60. the t61's screen is pushed much further to the right.
-
I like t60 series implementation better though. Thanks for brought this issue up.

Interesting. It's so funny, these past 6 months that I have spent with my T60 learning so much about laptops from both these forums and my real world experiences in business I never even noticed it!

My 15.4 T61 is about twice as thick on the left side as the right side.
I would think it would look more off centered on the T61 with the smaller screen but we would need to see both of them side by side.
It also doesn't bother me at all. -
mmm I think in my opinion the T61 would really bug me if there is that significant of a difference though =[

Thinkpad lcd's are all off-center even back on the 40s 30s and 20s. Though much less so. I didn't ever notice it until the T61, and then I looked closely at all the old ones.

Seems it's always been about a 2:1 ratio.
Do I have a T60 with a T61 screen frame?
