Just got my X61s after about 2 weeks of waiting. I just tried entering the serial number and item number into Lenovo's webpage but it does not display any part numbers.... So, my question is how do I know whether I have Ultra Bright or not. I have the obvious signs of Ultra Bright - such as light leakage at the very bottom of the screen. Is there other ways of checking other then undoing nuts and bolts? Perhaps FRU specfic to UL?
Thank you

Maybe try running PC wizard 2007. That program should output a model number of your LCD. That could be a good start.

braddd - I will give that a shot. Customer service was clueless as to why it won't show up on my parts list. They told me to just wait a few weeks... They claim that all 7668 CTO have Ultra Bright...

Yes just wait a bit. Took a few days after receiving my T61 before I could view the parts list. What happens when you look up parts list? Does it say "No parts to list"? Once my list said that, my parts showed up about a full day later.

Correct - no parts to list. Based on what I read about ultrabright, i am pretty certain that I have it. It's certainly no brighter than other lcds that I have used. Perhaps the diff is very slight.
Do I have UltraBright?
