I have been mainly using system update, aren't they pretty much the same thing? My software installer bugs up a lot when trying to download packages from the internet and has an error saying something like this:

"Not enough disk space in %PACKAGEPATH% Free up some space and try again."

Do any of you get this error, or know how to solve this issue?

Software installer? I wonder which you mean. Since I got the T60 I do the system update through thinkvantage and a seperate windows XP update, but that's it I believe. There was some program on the system to update things for me, away manager maybe or something else and I just disabled or uninstalled that.

Ohh I see. Yeah I haven't removed any ThinkVantage software and there is a system installer as well as a system update. I just used both and the software installer finally worked(kind of- a lot of the updates didn't work...).

I personally only update when I have a something that needs fixing. I do do the service packs just for shoots and giggles too. Updates can sometimes in my experience cause more problems than they fix.

Maybe your .NET Framework 1.1 and/or 2.0 is damaged or unupdated?

We have seen a few machines with problems mentioned above, and it worked well after uninstalling and reinstalling the packages.

Don't use software installer, it's been replaced by System Update. That might be why it's acting funny.

Mine just freezes up at different points of of the updating process, before it gets to the updates, when it's checking the packages.

And I cant fix it with the Windows Update either, cause that freezes up too.

I havent tried updating through the browser though.

In Control Panel, go to Add or Remove Programs, choose the "Show updates" and now you can see every update installed. Now, simply click on the update you want to remove and push _the_button!
