    If I use this adapter ( connected to a docking station) would it transmit audio too? also do you know any good product that would do the job? all the good ones with good reviews are out of stock at newegg and monoprice :/

    I bought a cheap cable - DisplayPort to HDMI - on Ebay, and it works very well.

    I bought one that didn't work from amazon.com and another that did work from monoprice. If you buy one that hasn't been tested, you are rolling the dice.
