    hey everyone,

im still waiting on my new T500 and the shipping date is still set to the 28th so im pretty happy.

i had a question about the display port option on the T500 with the ati graphics card. if i use that adapter from Startech to convert displayport into hdmi, will i get sound from the hdmi cable???

and where can i find the older non "flex" keyboard for the T500?? i looked on ebay but i dont know what im looking for really. and also does it effect my warranty if i switch out the keyboard with the older style one?

    thanks.

If i would have to guess (since i don't own the T500 or the cable you bought) I would say yes because DisplayPort has the ability to output audio as well and has the HDCP support, thus better than HDMI.

I would suggest you to simply chat with lenovo online, they are quick to answer questions like these or call them.

With regards to the cable unless someone owns that cable, the site does not tell you much. Another words I would also suggest you to call startech. It'll take you a lot shorter time and effort just doing these two things.

With the flex keyboard... why are you switching it? You haven't even used it and you're planning to switch it.... don't get influenced by people that I'm sure 90% have not touch the so call "flex keyboards". Flexing is not always bad and the people that have used the redesigned keyboards are basically saying it's fine unless you smash it with a hammer..

With regards to your question though... in the technical stand point... yes it would void your warranty.. on the other hand... how would they know.. catch my drift?
