Hi,
Does anybody know what is exactly stored under which conditions concerning the display settings? Does anybody work with multiple docking stations and has experience?
What happens when you work with different monitors (screen resolutions!), different work places (alignment of the multi screen setup)? What happens when closing the lid, reverting to tablet mode in each situation? Does each docking station have a serial which is saved? Can a display profile be associated with a particular "docking station"/is this even done automatically?
As an example, with the Stylistic it was straight forward: The Fujitsu utility had two profiles "docked" and "undocked". For these two profiles I could change the settings with the ordinary utilities and then use "Save profile". The profile settings were loaded automatically depending if docked or not docked.
Buying another docking station would also depend on the "sophistication" of the solution. In particular, is it possible to automatically set the following settings?
1.) UltraBase in the office: Lenovo widescreen monitor, dock on the left.
2.) Ultrabase at home, older Samsung 19" monitor, dock on the right
3.) Abroad, just connecting to external monitors, beamer etc. Settings should/could not be saved.
In all cases, closing the lid should leave the primary display as the external monitor, switching to tablet mode rotate the screen by 180degrees, just open lid to 0 degree. (I would also do this manually using the CTRL+ALT+Arrow hotkeys but I just want to know which settings are saved under which conditions).
Thanks for the clarification.
