I purchased this T400 in September of 2009. My warranty expired in September of 2010. My display went out around October, and I haven't had money to fix it. I'll be going to college soon, so I need to get my screen back up and running. I'm assuming it's an LCD Cable issue, not the screen itself.
I called a computer store around my area and they said it would most likely cost me $200-400 to get it repaired.
What are my warranty options with Lenovo?

If you purchased with a credit card, see if your credit card offers extended warranty. Most card companies will double your warranty period if it's at least 1 year or longer for free. Most people don't know this, but a lot of credit card programs allow you to purchase a 3 to 5 year warranty protection for around $150 on goods costing over $200. It's a lot cheaper than manufacturer's warranty, and best of all you get to decide what to use the warranty money for. I know Visa signature, world mastercard and Chase Amazon rewards visa offer this. best bet is to call your credit card's warranty manager phoneline.
if you paid with something cash...well....you can send it in for a repair and pay the full price or buy the parts off ebay and do it yourself.
