I bought some $5.00 displayport to HDMI adaptor off Amazon. I plugged it into my laptop and when I wanted to remove it, it didn't budge. I pulled a bit harder and harder until eventually the plastic part broke off. Now there is just a small half-inch connector stuck in the display port and I cant get it out.
    Is there a trick?

Also why is my screen still enlarged/zoomed in?

Those hooks at the front are probably what are stuck. Even with the plastic off, you should be able to see which part to press down to lower those looks. You can also tilt the adapter forward to lower those hooks if they're stuck. Just keep in mind what those hooks are like and you should be able to release it from the port.
